The business development officer concentrates on 2 main purposes which are expanding current business into new local, regional, national or international markets and supporting the company to capturing new business opportunities. The individual has supervisory responsibilities over personnel under his authority. The position of business development officer is a senior-level job. JOB DESCRIPTION -A business development officer typically reports to the chief executive officer or board of directors. -The officer consults with executive management on business strategies pertaining to new products and services expansion. -The officer manages feasibility study of the new business opportunities. -The business development officer also formulates focus group research and testing to determine how a new product will be received.
